New Putter Knocks Strokes Off Your Game!

 By David Hopkins

It’s an undeniable fact that there’s no better time spent practicing golf than in improving one’s putting stroke. Every golfer at any level can improve his or her putting stroke.

Not every golfer, however, can swing like a pro in other parts of the game, whether it be for distance or accuracy. One’s mechanical athletic abilities prohibit that.

It’s said that in order to reach the highest levels of golf, 500 balls are needed to be hit on the driving range every day for years. During a round of golf, you are going to use your putter up to twice as much as any other golf club in your bag.

Doesn’t it make sense that the value of your practice is best spent on the putting green?

Every week a tournament is won on the PGA Tour by the golfer who is putting the best. Look at the statistics: the winner, tee to green, does not separate himself that much from the rest of the field. But they are always one or two in putting.

It’s no mystery to me why Tiger Woods isn’t playing well right now. It’s his putting. In the past, how many times has Tiger been standing over a putt on the final hole having to make it to win the tournament? And you, he, and I knew that before he ever soled his putter, that the putt was going to find the hole. (Putt for dough.)

The putter has killed more golfers’ careers than any other club in the bag has done. Look at Vijay Singh and Sergio Garcia, at one time, top five in the world, and now struggling to make cuts. It’s because of their putting!

They still hit the ball a mile on a string. They still hit their approach shots closer than most of their peers. But they cannot make putts.

Putting is about confidence and confidence is acquired when you make putts. It’s a vicious cycle when you start missing putts. As the putts don’t fall, your confidence does.

And so your putting goes from bad to worse. Vijay has tried every putter, gimmick, and gadget to improve his putting. Sergio has all but quit playing and it breaks my heart to see these guys struggling like this. I wonder…will these guys, Tiger included, ever be the golfers that they were? It hurts to see the look of defeat on the faces of these champions.

My name is David Hopkins, inventor of the Pure Stroke Putter, a putting training aid designed for the sole purpose of grooving a pure stroke, although after testing, I have found that multiple other benefits come with this training aid.

The concept is simple. The feedback is clear and immediate. Two forks on the front of the putter, each fork approx. 3 1/4” long, with space between to two forks being slightly larger than a golf ball.

You simply putt the ball through the forks without hitting the side of the forks. If the ball bounces off the forks, the result is an errant putt.

This is not easy task. But, if acquired, the results are the ball rolls as pure as any putt ever struck.

With most other putting training aids, as long as you are square at impact, you will be successful. With the Pure Stroke Putter, because you take the putt outside the forks at take-away and back inside the forks at follow through, there is simply no way to hit the hole it unless the stroke is perfect.

The Pure Stroke Putting Training Aid is better than all the other golf putting training aids simply because it is a golf club. You can practice with it anywhere --at home, at the office, in a motel room, or on the putting green.  All you need is a golf ball.

After practicing with my golf training aid, I could putt with a block of wood. It’s all about muscle memory: the goal is to repeat the stroke. Now when I go from practice to play, the stroke with my putter is the exact square to square pure stroke that I have ingrained with my Pure Stroke Putter. Any golfer at any level could learn to putt better with my putting aid.

The forks on the front of the putter are like an arrow, pointing to your target. So, you learn how to better align the putter that you play with. Great putters know four things: line, speed, stroke, and confidence. With this golf aid, you will achieve all four.

My handicap is probably about a 10 to 12, but I putt to a 3 or 4 handicap because of this putting aid. I say “probably” because I now do not even carry a card. Most weeks, I take the clubs out of the trunk on Saturday morning and put them back in the trunk in the afternoon, and never make a swing in between.

Most of the time I don’t even hit balls before I play. But, I putt, 50 strokes a night on my carpet religiously. After all, how does someone only have 23 putts in a round of golf and still shoot 82?

That’s right: two weeks ago in my Saturday game, I had 23 putts in a round and still shot 82! Two of my putts were from off the collar in excess of 50 feet. By the end of the round, my buddies were blubbering…. “Do you really practice with that Pure Stroke Putter?”

They all were snickering when I shanked my chip about 28’ from the hole. “Well, I guess you’re not going to get your nine one-putts this side of the round,” they said.

“I hit it over there just to prove this is no fluke,” I responded. Confidently, I stroked the putt, and the putt found the hole, leaving them shaking their heads.

Last week I made a 48’, 38’, and 20’ putt, all for birdie.

My buddy won the closest to the pin on #5, hitting it about 3’ away. Making my 38 ft. putt to top him sure took the wind out of his sails. This putting aid is no gimmick. It works!

I guarantee that with practice at the amateur level, you will shave 3 to 5 strokes off your game.

I know that I will never hit the drive 300-plus yards of the tee nor will I make the Senior Tour. But I am a great putter and no matter what level you are at, you can be a great putter, as well.

I wish I could give Sergio or Vijay or Tiger my Pure Stroke Putter, and would if I knew how to go about doing it, because I know with practice, it would put smiles back on their faces.

At least I can do that with you.
